Who is CIUGU MWAGIRU?
Born in Kiambu District, Kenya, was educated in Kenya and France. Wrote for popular magazines in Kenya while still at the Nairobi University in the 1970s and published The Day the Music Died, a collection of short stories, while in his 20s. Has been a columnist for the Nation, Kenya's top newspaper, for many years. Also works as a freelance editor, writer and French-English translator based in Mombasa, Kenya. Widely traveled, he has visited and worked in numerous countries around the world.
