Effie is the daughter of Michael “Mick” Watson, drummer with 1960s rock/pop outfit Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Tich. Effie told RWD Magazine of the first time she heard her first single on radio: "I had all of the girls come over and we were ready. I was in bed - I had work the next day so I got all comfy - and then it came on Ronnie Herel’s show. He predicted that I would be in the first five in the R&B chart. I couldn’t sleep for a couple of hours, I was just buzzing afterwards".

Effie was interviewed on 6Towns Radio's "Bossons About" programme on Monday 22nd. November 2010 where she discussed the new single and video for Lonely with presenter Terry Bossons.
