Who was Adolphe Masselot?
Adolphe Eduard Masselot was a French sculptor, best known for his war memorials. During World War I, Masselot served his country and was taken prisoner of war. After the war he embarked on engagements making "monuments aux mort", working initially with Maurice Ringot.
Later he would bring his sons into the business, teaching and mentoring them in the process, and ultimately forming Sociéte Alphonse Masselot. After World War II, Masselot founded a foundry with his sons.
