Who is Barry Traill?

Barry Traill is an Australian zoologist and conservationist. He grew up in Victoria and was educated at Monash University in Melbourne. Traill is currently the Director of the Pew Environment Group - Australia. He has led the Wild Australia Program, a joint program of Pew and The Nature Conservancy, since 2007. Prior to working with Pew, he worked on woodland and forest conservation issues throughout Australia, from the 1980s on. With conservationist Tim Low, he founded the Invasive Species Council in 2002.

Traill has particular interest and expertise in the ecology of terrestrial birds and mammals, and landscape-scale conservation of temperate and tropical woodlands and forests.
