Who is Aaron Doornekamp?
Aaron Doornekamp is a Canadian professional basketball player from Odessa, Ontario. Currently playing for the German team New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig as of August 2013, he was one of the greatest players in the history of the Carleton University Ravens men's basketball team.
Doornekamp is also a member of the Canadian national men's basketball team. He played in the 2007 Pan-American Games, the 2008 Olympic Qualifying Tournament, and the 2010 World Basketball Championships. He was named CIS Men's Basketball Player of the year in 2008. He was a member of the Carleton Ravens national championship teams in 2005, 2006 and 2007, and won the MVP award at the 2007 final eight tournament. After finishing his college career he signed his first pro contract in Italy for Pepsi Caserta.
While sidelined with injury in 2012/13, Doornekamp was the assistant coach of the McMaster Marauders Men's Basketball Team
Doornekamp was married on the 13th of July 2013 in Burlington, Ontario.
