Who is Annamay Pierse?

Annamay Pierse is a Canadian swimmer. She grew up in Edmonton, Alberta and currently attends the University of British Columbia and resides permanently in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Annamay Pierse is the oldest of five sisters, with two brothers.

She is a breaststroke specialist and the holder of several Canadian records both long course and short course. She also used to be the world record holder in the 200 m long course breaststroke until Rebecca Soni beat her time by 12 hundredth of a second during the semifinals of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

On April 2, 2008 she placed first at the Canadian Olympic Trials in 100 m breaststroke thereby qualifying her for the Summer Olympic games in Beijing. At the 2008 Olympics, she finished in 6th at the 200 m breaststroke. She was a member of the Canadian team that finished in seventh in the 4×100 m medley relay.
