Who was Ira Courtney?
J. Ira Courtney was an American track and field athlete who competed in the 1912 Summer Olympics. During the years 1909 through 1914, he won many awards and championships as both a sprinter and hurdler. At the Games in Stockholm, Sweden, he competed in both the 100 and 200-meter dashes and the 400-meter relay. In his later years he became a champion handball player.
