Who was Kalle Jalkanen?

Kalle Jalkanen was a Finnish cross-country skier who competed in the late 1930s. He won a gold medal at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the 4 x 10 km relay. He won the relay along with Sulo Nurmela, Klaes Karppinen and Matti Lähde.

Jalkanen's biggest successes were at the Nordic skiing World Championships where he earned 4 medals, including 1 gold, 2 silvers, and 1 bronze
