Who is M A Khan?

Rear Admiral M A Khan was a Bangladeshi Navy officer. He was the chief of Bangladesh Navy. Also he was acted as Minister of Communication of Bangladesh Government.

Admiral was born in Sylhet District in the then Bengal Province of British India. He joined Pakistan Navy as a Cadet and underwent training at Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth. In his career in Pakistan Navy he commanded frigates and destroyers. After independence of Bangladesh we returned to Bangladesh Navy and became 3rd Chief of Naval Staff. He died of heart attack after he fall sick when he was supervising rescue of a F-27 aircraft of Bangladesh Biman which crushed while landing at Dhaka Kurmitola Airport.

During that period, in communication sector, there were a huge development in Bangladesh. Dhaka-Chittagong Highway, Dhaka-Rangpur-RajShahi highway, Dhaka-Khulna highway, Dhaka-Sylhet separate highway, all these roads had built newly at the international standard, which made Dhaka nearer to his periferial district. There are thousands of small & big bridges build on that time.
