Who is Marilyn?
Peter Robinson, better known as Marilyn, is a British pop singer who was known for his highly androgynous appearance. He was one of the Blitz Kids during the New Romantic era and was close friends with Boy George. He also briefly collaborated with Diana Ross as his manager. Marilyn met with brief fleeting chart success in the 1980s with his hit songs "Calling Your Name", "Cry and Be Free" and "You Don't Love Me". However, plans to launch his career in the USA were not successful. In 1985, Marilyn released his debut and only album, Despite Straight Lines, which failed to chart. In 2000, Marilyn briefly relaunched his career, however, without commercial success.
