Who is Steve Forbes?

Malcolm Stevenson "Steve" Forbes, Jr. is an American publishing executive who was twice a candidate for the nomination of the Republican Party for president. He is the editor-in-chief of business magazine Forbes magazine as well as president and chief executive officer of its parent company, Forbes, Inc. His 20 year tenure as head of Forbes magazine coincided with the decline of the publication and the Forbes family empire. By 2009, Forbes' EBITDA had fallen to -$4.6M and in 2010, he was replaced as President and Chief Executive Officer of Forbes Media LLC, the publisher of Forbes magazine, by Mike Perlis, the first non-Forbes family member to run the magazine since its founding in 1917. Forbes magazine was eventually put up for sale in November 2013. He was a Republican candidate in the 1996 and 2000 presidential primaries. He is the son of longtime Forbes publisher Malcolm Forbes and the grandson of that publication's founder, B.C. Forbes.
