Who is Tay?
Tay was a high official of Ancient Egypt with the main title treasurer. He was in office under Hatshepsut and in the first years of Thutmose III. Tay is known from a rock inscription on Sehel. According to this inscription he was on a military campaign with the queen in Nubia. A stela found in Sinai dates to year 25 of Thutmose III and attests that Tay was still in office under this king. The dating 25 includes the years of the rule of Hatshepsut. Tay is also known from two letters now in the Louvre.
