Who was John Kerins?
John Kerins was an Irish sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club St. Finbarr's and was a member of the Cork senior inter-county team from 1984 until 1994. Kerins was an integral part of the Cork team that enjoyed much success during this period, he himself winning six Munster titles, two All-Ireland titles and two All Stars at senior level.
Kerins died in 2001 at the age of 39 after battling cancer. A Garda Síochána detective, he was survived by a wife and three children.
