Who was T. L. Bayne?
Thomas Levingston Bayne, Jr. was an American college football coach and attorney. He served as the first head football coach at Tulane University in 1893 and returned for a second season in 1895. Bayne was responsible for helping to introduce the sport of football to the city of New Orleans with an inter-club game in 1892. In 1893, he helped establish the intercollegiate program at Louisiana State University.
