Who is Earl Woodyard?
Earl Woodyard, Jr. was a longtime Pittsburgh Police leader, who was appointed acting Pittsburgh Police Chief from September 29, 2006-October 31, 2006, after the death of mayor Bob O'Connor.
Woodyard was an assistant police chief for a decade before becoming chief. He was briefly detained by Allegheny County Police during a May 19, 1999 drug trial for contempt where 2 defendants were released after a chain-of-evidence error.
