Who is Pankaj Pachauri?

Pankaj Pachauri is a senior Indian TV anchor and journalist, and the current Communications Adviser to the Prime Minister of India. Pachauri is mainly associated with NDTV. He was also associated with other international media houses including the BBC, the Department of Journalism at Berkeley and the University of California. He has more than 20 years of experience in print and broadcast journalism. He is a commerce graduate from St. John's College, Agra and studied journalism at Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Communication in Lucknow.

Pachauri hosts many program in NDTV including the well known Hum Log and Money Mantra in NDTV India and NDTV Profit.

He has won many awards including the prestigious 'The Statesman Award for Rural Reporting' in 1989 for his expose on the practice of female infanticide in Rajasthan. He also received the Srikant Verma Award for journalism in 1990. He has worked as a correspondent world wide.

In January 2012, Pachauri was appointed the Communications Adviser to the Prime Minister of India, in the Prime Minister's Office, replacing Harish Khare.
