Who is Earl Pomerantz?

Earl Pomerantz is best known for his work as a television script writer. Pomerantz created the network television series Family Man and Best of the West, and wrote scripts for such shows as The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Taxi, Cheers, Newhart, The Cosby Show, Major Dad and many other series. He has won two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Writers Guild of America Award, the Humanitas Prize and a CableACE Award.

More recently, he has also delivered several commentaries on NPR’s All Things Considered.

He is the brother of writer/performer Hart Pomerantz.
