Who is Alan Hilburg?

Alan Hilburg is an American communications and branding consultant, and the principal of Hilburg Associates. Hilburg has authored more than 200 organizational communication plans, worked on Tylenol’s 1982 response and recovery strategy; and represented Alyseka in all post-Exxon Valdez related environmental litigation. He has represented Oliver North, Leona Helmsely, Rev. Al Sharpton, IMUS, and Bill Aramony.

Hilburg has written two NY Times best selling books on leadership including Russell Rules with Bill Russell. His marketing work includes the creation of the Wendy’s “Where’s the Beef?” campaign. He also worked on GE’s “Bring Good Things to Life” and AT&T’s “Olympic Torch Run.” Hilburg has won six Silver Anvils and three Clios. As a producer he has been nominated for three Emmy awards and one Academy award.

Later in his career, he has been internationally recognized as a brand experience and organizational relationship consultant. Hilburg gives more than 25 speeches annually globally on branding. He is an adjunct professor at George Mason University and the University of California teaching the capstone class in communications school. He has also lectured at 22 universities on advertising, brand and customer experience.
