Who is Alex Vincent?

Alex Shumway was the drummer for the bands Spluii Numa and, later, one of the pioneers of the grunge scene, Green River. After the disbanding of Green River in 1987, he returned to college, eventually ending up in Japan working and studying international studies at Sophia University in Tokyo. He later moved back to the United States in1995 to work in politics and labor union related organizations.

Today he is a stay-at-home father with his adopted daughters and continues to play music. Green River has been his only professional musical endeavor.

In 2008, Green River reunited for the 20-year anniversary of the Sub Pop record label and have played several live shows since. In October 2010, Vincent was an actor for a semi-documentary film titled Big In Japan, directed by John Jeffcoat released in March of 2014.
