Who is Angélica Araujo Lara?
Angélica del Rosario Araujo Lara – – she was the municipal president of Mérida, Yucatán around 2010 to 2012. She is the first architect and the second woman to hold the office.
She is also, the first female member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party to rule the city. With her election, she ended 19 years of government of National Action Party in Mérida.
