Who was Antonio Marsand?
Letterato e bibliografo italiano (Venezia 1765 - Milano 1842). Ecclesiastico, fu predicatore e insegnante di statistica ed economia politica nell'università di Padova. Ritiratosi dall'insegnamento, si dedicò agli studî eruditi e alla raccolta di scritti su Petrarca e di edizioni delle sue opere. Fu editore delle "Rime" (2 voll., 1819-20) e pubblicò il catalogo della propria collezione petrarchesca (1826), che vendette a Carlo X durante il suo soggiorno in Francia (1826), per un vitalizio. Fra le sue opere bibliografiche è da ricordare il "Catalogo dei manoscritti italiani delle Biblioteche di Parigi" (2 voll., 1835-38).
