Who is Audrius Beinorius?

Audrius Beinorius is a Lithuanian philosopher, orientalist, translator, Doctor of Humane Letters.

In 1988, he finished land management studies at the Academy of Agriculture. Later he moved to India where he studied Indology, Buddology and Indian languages at the Ramakrishna Mission in Calcutta. In 1996, Beinorius become a lecturer at the Center of Orientalist Studies at Vilnius University. In 1998, he earned a Doctor of Philosophy degree. He became a docent in 2000 and a professor in 2007. Since 2004, Beinorius is the director of the Center of Orientalist Studies.

The main scientific fields for Beinorius are a perception of Indian culture in the West, Indian philosophy and astrology, Indian religious thought, Eastern aesthetics and Indian psychology.

Beinorius has written more than 70 scientific articles, three books, made some translations from Sanskrit, Pali, Russian, English, French, German.
