Who is B G Verghese?

Boobli George Verghese, usually known as B G Verghese, is a senior Indian journalist, who was editor of the leading papers Hindustan Times and Indian Express. In 1975, he received the Ramon Magsaysay award for outstanding contribution to journalism. Since 1986, he has been associated with the social sciences think-tank Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi.

Verghese attended The Doon School and then studied Economics from St. Stephen's College, Delhi with a master's from Trinity College, Cambridge. While at Doon, Verghese edited The Doon School Weekly.
