Who is B. Ravi Pillai?

Ravi Pillai is a global businessman and a philanthropist.

Like many of his illustrious peers, he made a very humble beginning in the Middle-East a few decades ago. As a recipient of the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award in 2008 and Padma Shri in 2010, he is also the largest overseas Indian employer with 70,000 + Indian employees. With several decades of living and doing business globally and in India alike, Dr. Pillai stands tall among his peers as the “Son of the soil”.

Over a period of time, as a functioning Chairman & Managing Director of over 22 businesses and organisations; Dr. Pillai has not just developed numerous businesses overseas but has also established a myriad of other entities such as schools, colleges, hospitals, charities, newspapers, hospitality business and the list goes on and on.

In the Middle East he is founder and Managing Director of one of the largest industrial construction companies having around 60,000 employees; primarily from India and other parts of the world. Dr. Pillai’s work is well known across the entire spectrum of industrialists and businessmen, having constructed some of the largest facilities in the world; including this year, the world’s largest Ethylene Cracker & Phenols Project for SABIC, in Saudi Arabia, for a combined 90 Million safe working man hours. Always taking to heart the best interests of his employees, and their respective families back home, he is a major promoter of putting both safety and quality first. This attentiveness to his employees and their well being has contributed greatly to his success in all his business ventures.
