Who is B.C. Nirmal?

B. C. Nirmal is an Indian Professor of Law at Law School, Banaras Hindu University specialising in International law, Human rights, Labour law and Consumer protection. He is presently Head and Dean of Law School, Banaras Hindu University and is also Vice-President of Indian Society of International Law, Vice President of All India Law Teachers Congress, and Member of Executive Council, Indian Society of International Law, New Delhi. He is a Member of the Academic Council of Banaras Hindu University,Varanasi, Deen Dayal University, Gorakhpur and was till recently member of the Academic Council of Gujarat National Law University, Gujarat and of the Board of School of Law of Indira Gandhi Open University, New Delhi. He is also member of Board of studies Allahabad University and Delhi University and School Board of Social Sciences, North Eastern Hill University, Shillong. He is Honorary Professor G.N.L.U and was Visiting Fellow North-Bengal University and has been associated with Board of Studies, Faculty Boards and Research Committees of various prestigious Universities, Delhi, NEHU, DDU Gorakhpur, M.G.University Kashi Vidyapeeth, Ravi Shanker University, National University, Jaipur, Purvanchal University, etc. He visited the Hague and Taipei for prestigious academic programmes. He has delivered lectures at Indian, Foreign Universities and Chaired a number of national and international conferences. He was also Executive Editor of Banaras Law Journal and as Executive Editor of Banaras Law Journal he restored its age old prestige. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of International Law, the most important journal in the field of international law published from a third world Country.
