Who is Baraguru Ramachandrappa?

Baraguru Ramachandrappa is a Kannada writer from Karnataka, India. He is considered one of the prominent Litterateurs in the country today. He is also a film director and Screenplay writer in the Kannada film industry and also a well known name in Indian documentary films. In 2008, he was bestowed an Honorary Doctorate by University of Tumkur, Karnataka.

Ramachandrappa was conferred upon the Pampa Prashasti in 2011 by the Government of Karnataka for his rich contribution in Kannada literature. His directorial debut film, Ondu Oorina Kathe, fetched him the State award for best story writer for the year 1978-79. Since then, he has been the recipient of several international, national, state and other awards for many of his Kannada movies.
