Who is Bian Zhongyun?

Bian Zhongyun was a teacher at the Experimental High School Attached to Beijing Normal University, in Beijing, China. She become the first victim of the Cultural Revolution, when she was beaten to death by her students in August 1966 with wooden sticks. Prior to her death, Bian was the party leader at the school, denounced as a "counter-revolutionary revisionist" by Red Guards

A documentary about her, Though I am Gone, was released in 2006.
