Who is Chad Smith?
Chadwick Gaylord "Chad" Smith is an American musician, best known as the longtime and current drummer of Red Hot Chili Peppers, whom he joined in 1988. Smith is also the drummer of the hard rock band Chickenfoot and the all-instrumental outfit Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats. As one of the most highly sought-after drummers, Smith has recorded with Deep Purple vocalist Glenn Hughes, Kid Rock, Jake Bugg, The Dixie Chicks, Jennifer Nettles, Johnny Cash, and The Avett Brothers, to name a few.
In 2010, Smith released Rhythm Train, a critically acclaimed children's album which he recorded with Dick Van Dyke and Leslie Bixler. In April 2010, MTV named Rhythm Train one of the best children's records of all time.
