Who was Cornelia Scheffer?
Cornelia Scheffer was a Dutch painter and portrait miniaturist. She was the daughter of the painter Arie Lamme, by whom she was probably trained. She married the painter Johann Baptist Scheffer and after his death moved to Paris with their sons Ary and Hendrik Scheffer for them to be trained as painters. When Ary's work became popular, she worked for him as a copyist.
