D. Gwalia
Musical Artist
Who is D. Gwalia?
D. Gwalia is a grunge-folk musician and songwriter, based in the UK.
D. Gwalia has performed across the UK, USA, and in Europe. In 2010, he released his debut album In Puget Sound. The album was reviewed in both local press and national publications. Comparisons were drawn with the work of American film-maker David Lynch, due to In Puget Sound's 'other-worldly' atmosphere.
D. Gwalia is regarded as an exponent of 'folk noir', a genre of music based on traditional folk with gothic and postmodern elements. In 2009, D. Gwalia was the first musical artist to be granted permission by the Pitt Rivers Museum, Oxford, to perform original compositions using one of the museum's exhibits, a 200 year old harmonium.
