Who is Derald Conway?

Having been reared by an entertaining family, Derald has been singing, dancing, and writing since the age of three. During his formative years, Derald studied vocal and instrumental music (saxophone), dance and gymnastics from premier instructor’s throughout the United States. He recorded his first album along with his nationally acclaimed mother, Genetter Bradley and the Bradley Singers, featuring Derald on the ABC Dunhill label at age 15. The album entitled Right Direction instantly soared the Gospel charts, which opened the right doors for the next few years.

Derald received his BA in Musical Theatre from the United States International University in San Diego, CA. This was the catalyst for his contemporary experience. Out of over 500 aspiring dancers and singers Derald was chosen as the featured dance choreographer for Disneyland. Later Elton John discovered him there and he then began recording and touring with Elton’s review. Derald also toured with the late, great James Cleveland, and recorded on the Cleveland Singers album, while also recording on Stanley Turrentine’s album with Producer Chuck Jackson (producer for Natalie Cole) — all grooming Derald into becoming a commercial artist, where he wrote and performed with many others.

Having showcased his talents at every major arena in the U.S., while touring abroad with the likes of Andy Gibb among others, Derald finally reached his life-long dream of recording his own CD as the lead singer of the group TRUTH Inc, recording some of the following: 1) Bring Back the Days 2) Can I Get With You Tonight 3) The Wedding Song 4)Say You Love Me 5) Don’t Leave Me Now and others. Truth Inc. was the first R&B group with the new Interscope Records, with Ted Field and Jimmy Iovine. The self-titled CD received rave reviews, which led to his film career, where Derald became the legendary voice of Robert Townsend in the movie “The Five Heartbeats” (We Haven’t Finished Yet).

Today, after being tried through the fire, he’s “still” coming through as pure gold. Additionally, after achieving levels of success in many areas of his Christian life, Derald’s vocal Instruction, writing, teaching, business techniques and choreography has led him to be the Instrument GOD intended him to be, where he is now spending time developing other artist to reach their greatest potential, both youth and adults.

Nurturing is the investment necessary to stimulate the potential we all possess, as he states . . . “I believe that people are the greatest investment in the World!” . . . to GOD be the glory for all he has done . . . Oh give thanks unto the Lord for he is good”….
