Who is Don Peattie?
Donald 'Don' Peattie from Dumfries is a Scottish ex professional association footballer. Peattie was a forward.
It is commonly mistaken that Don was born in Dumfries. However he was actually born in Baildon, Yorkshire. When his father Andrew Peattie moved to Dumfries through work, co-operative that's where it all started.
Donald Peattie was on the books at Gretna F.C. until he completed his schooling at Dumfries Academy. On leaving school he went to Sheffield United for whom he played five league games in season 1984/85 in the second tier of the English Football League. After leaving United he played in regional football in England's North East by first signing for Newcastle Blue Star. He also played for North Shields F.C.
Off the pitch Peattie developed a career in Sports Education and is Head of Sport at the City of Sunderland College.
He also coaches Sunday league team RedbyCAFC under 13's team in his spare time.
Don's son, Cameron Peattie, is an application designer and is currently designing the app 'The Fantastic Football Quiz' which will be/is released at November 2013
