Who is Fabricio Monteiro?
Fabricio Monteiro is a mixed martial artist from Brazil. He has a professional MMA record of 18–9. Monteiro has a second degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu which he was awarded by Adilson Lima and has won numerous BJJ competitions and tournaments including the Absolute Section of the Pan American Championship in 2000. He is a member of the Evolve MMA fight team and is based in Singapore.
Monteiro made his professional MMA debut in 2004, winning by TKO and went on to win his next 10 fights. In 2006 he made his debut for Deep, winning by submission and he won all of his first three fights for the Japanese promotion. His first loss for Deep came at the hands of Satoru Kitaoka who submitted him in the second round of their fight which was a qualifier for the Pride Lightweight Grand Prix. In 2009 Monteiro retired from professional MMA competition because he was not earning enough money to train full-time.
