Gary Taylor, born Los Angeles, California, is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer.
His songs have been recorded by a number of leading artists, including "Keep in Touch" by Grover Washington, Jr.; "Good Love" by Anita Baker, Walter Beasley, Lonnie Liston Smith and George Clinton & P-Funk Allstars; "Living Without a Heart" by Vanessa Rubin; "Just Gets Better with Time" and "My Heart Your Heart" by The Whispers.
As a background vocalist, Taylor appeared on The Whispers' R&B #1 "Rock Steady", and "My Flame" for Vanessa Williams, as well as with Nancy Wilson.
As a songwriter and producer, Mr. Taylor effortlessly spans music genres and generations, having worked with both veteran acts, such as Anita Baker and The Whispers, and new wave of soul artists such as Lalah Hathaway among them.
