Who is Habib Ahmad?

Habib Ahmad was born on July 13, 1959 in Village Matta District Swat, Khyber Pakhtun Khwa, Pakistan. His father Muhammad Saeed a renowned social worker is considered as the first teacher in Subdivision Matta District Swat. Swat, Switzerland of Asia has given birth to number of great personalities like Professor Habib. He got his early education from Government High School Matta, Swat and passed his matriculation exam in 1975. He graduated from Government Jahanzeb College, Saidu Sharif, Swat in 1981. He received his MSc and MPhil in Botany in 1985 and 1991 respectively, from Department of Botany, University of Peshawar, Pakistan. He got his PhD from University of the Punjab, Pakistan in 2003.his family is the pioneer who created three phds in biology,physics and chemistry.his two brothers dr rasheed ahmad and dr iftikhar ahmad are well known in swat and both of them are hods of chemistry and physics departments of malakand university.dr shafiq ahmad is his elder brother and is general physician

He has served on number of posts during his career. He is presently Professor of Genetics and Chairman Department of Genetics, Hazara University, Mansehra, Pakistan. He is the author of more than 10 books and 130 research papers. In 2010 on Independence Day of Pakistan, he was awarded with Civil Award Tamgha-e-Imtiaz by Government of Pakistan for his unique contribution in the plant sciences nationally and globally.
