Who is Hakim Syed Ali Ahmad Nayyar Wasty?

Professor Hakim Syed Ali Ahmad Nayyar Wasty was an eminent scholar of the history of medicine. Upon completion of his early education in the eastern systems of medicine from academies in Lahore, he established himself amongst the leading practitioners of India. He traveled extensively throughout Europe and the Middle East, lectured in foreign universities, mastered several languages, and wrote numerous books on his specialized field.

Recognized for his services by Government of Pakistan, he was awarded "Sitara-e-Khidmat". Additionally, for his contribution to promoting relations between Pakistan and Turkey, the Turkish Government appointed him as its Honorary Consul General in Lahore. Subsequently, he served as member of the Federal Advisory Council to the President of Pakistan. Professor Wasty was also a member of the Pakistani parliament.

In 2010, his biography Nayyar-e-Hikmat was published to honor his life and accomplishments.
