Who was Hamilton Easter Field?

Hamilton Easter Field was an important American artist, teacher, author, critic, collector and patron of the arts.

In 1911 Field founded the Summer School of Graphic Arts in Ogunquit, Maine. Unmarried, Field left his papers to Franco-American sculptor Robert Laurent, and they're now held by the Archives of American Art.
