Who is Henry Krips?
Henry Paul Krips is the Andrew W. Mellon All-Claremont Chair of Humanities and Professor of Cultural Studies at Claremont Graduate University.
Education: B.Sc. Honors, University of Adelaide, 1965. Ph.D., University of Adelaide, Mathematical Physics, 1970. Dissertation on: Measurement Theory.
His publications include Fetish: An Erotics of Culture, Der Andere Schauplatz: Psychoanalyse, Kultur, Medien, Science, Reason and Rhetoric, and The Metaphysics of Quantum Theory.
Krips specializes in Contemporary European Cultural Theory, Psychoanalysis, and Science Studies. He has held the Silverman visiting chair for History and Philosophy of Science and Ideas at the University of Tel Aviv, and has been a Senior Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for History of Science in Berlin, the Hungarian Institute for Advanced Studies in Budapest, and the IFK in Vienna. He is on the board of the Association for Psychoanalysis, Culture and Society, and chairs the division for Theories of Culture in the American Cultural Studies Association.
