Who was Jack O'Connor?

Jack O'Connor was a greyhound trainer from Melbourne.His first success with greyhounds was Kio Ora Nut at Mildura's City gate track in 1938.In the 1950's he won a string of races with Harb Man and then in the 1960's achieved great success with Blue Zip and Mastry.In the 1970's he raced Penisula Tip, Dr Goldstone, and The Collector.His last major winner was Minnie Jubilee, which scored a victory in the South Australian West End Distance Championship at Angle Park and the Sun Toy Fund Marathon at Wentworth Park, Sydney.Those wins by Minnie Jubilee were in the 1980s.Jack suffered of a blood cot while at home and died during surgey at hospital.
