Who is John Craig?

John Craig is an American indie pop artist based in Portland, Oregon. John's solo project "John Craig & The Weekend" was formed in Portland in 2009. Craig gained notoriety in the Portland music scene for his 2009 single "Ticking" which was featured in the motion picture Tucker & Dale vs. Evil Sundance Film Festival) along with "Trouble." The film also screened at the 2010 South by Southwest Music & Film Festival. John's debut Umlaut EP has garnered industry buzz thanks in part to reviews by the Willamette Week, Rob Cullivan of the Portland Tribune, and Andy Valentine of the Eugene Weekly. "Ticking" has also been prominently featured on Portland's 94.7 KNRK and 101.9 KINK.

In April 2010 John Craig was the featured musical guest on KOIN 6. A clip from the in-studio performance can be seen on www.koinlocal6.com.

On June 8, 2010 Craig released dual-singles Ghosts with b-side The Fall Out and Broken Branches exclusively on iTunes. The singles were released for wide reaching digital distribution in July 2010. "Broken Branches / IED / Kandahar" is a nearly 13-minute three-part epic with a commentary on today's current war culture. 100% of net proceeds from the downloads of Broken Branches go to benefit the Open Prosthetics Project.
