Sastry is an experienced Indian film critic. with more than thirty years of experience, Sastry always wanted to make films which have a striking a balance between Art and Parallel Cinema. It materialized with films like, Thilaadanam, Kamli, Surabhi and the upcoming Kannada film, Snehe Geethe. He was a jury member for many international film festivals.
