Who was Kausar Bashir Ahmed?

Prof. Kausar Bashir Ahmad was a Pakistani architect, townplanner and educationist. He had contributed towards architectural education in Pakistan since 1978, and his teaching was based on the model of 'socially responsive architecture' at Dawood College in Karachi, Pakistan. His initiatives included the Orangi Pilot Project, the Aga Khan Rural Support Program, and the Urban Resource Center. He was adjudged among the five short listed recipients of the first ever Royal Institute of British Architects' Annie Spink Award for Architecture Education in 2000.
