Who is Ken Paulson?
Ken Paulson is the dean of the College of Mass Communication at Middle Tennessee State University, president and CEO of the First Amendment Center, former editor in chief of USA Today and former president of the Freedom Forum and Newseum. He graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri and the University of Illinois College of Law in Champaign, Illinois.
Paulson edited Gannett Company newspapers in Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey and Florida.
He was the host of Speaking Freely, a television show about free expression that ran from 2000 to 2004. He also created Freedom Sings, a First Amendment musical presentation.
He is a former president of the American Society of News Editors and was instrumental in moving the organization to his alma mater.
