Who is Los Stompers?

Formed in Barcelona towards the end of the 90’s, post-Irish group Los Stompers have become, over the years, a reference point on the Catalan music scene. Their approach, evolving from traditional Irish folk roots, has gradually become more personal, developing into what they call the Barcelona Irish Sound; Irish music beyond the turn of the century, far away from home. A breakthrough in musical cross-breeding, injected with healthy doses of irony.

In 2013, Los Stompers presented their last project “The Harold Spencers”, an album which shows the evolution of the band from an Irish-folk to an Indie-folk sound. This change has been brought by combining new elements (such as the electric guitar, bass and drums) with “old friends” such as the mandolin, the banjo or the violin. The album offers us 11 songs which contain a rich selection of themes; some with a profound socio-political significance while others are emotion based or talk ironically about the state of the world today. Why this title? The Harold Spencers is a new identity for a new direction, an alter ego for a Los Stompers more electric and eclectic for the new decade.
