Ludy Bührs
Who is Ludy Bührs?
Ludy Bührs (born Lidwina Maria Anna Bührs as the first of female twins) is a freelance translator, mother of two sons and a grandmother who -nowadays in scarce spare time - writes poetry in Dutch and English, and on request sometimes translates poems of other poets into English.
From 2005-2008 she lived in Cambodja and back in the Netherlands 60 poems with her impressions of this country were published ( "Op de ruïnes van een rijk" (On the Ruins of an Empire) ISBN 978-90-8834-483-1).
Her poems are written in different styles, some in formal rhyme, e.g. sonnet or dizain, some free verse. The subjects reflect her views on life and human relations, either optimistic or sad.
