She is best known for her roles in; Cornbread, Earl and Me, Coming to America, Trapper John, M.D., ABC TV Miniseries Roots Sinclair won the 1991 Outstanding Supporting Actress - Drama Series for her role as Empress Josephine in Gabriel's Fire .
