Who is Mark Stein?
Mark Avrum Stein (born 18 May 1951) is an author and playwright. His book, How the States Got Their Shapes (2009), became the basis for a History Channel series of the same name. Other non-fiction includes its companion volume, The People Behind the Borderlines (2012), American Panic: A History of Who Scares Us and Why (2014), and Vice Capades: Sex, Drugs and Bowling from the Pilgrims to the Present (2017).
Stein's plays have been produced at Manhattan Theatre Club, Actors Theatre of Louisville, South Coast Repertory, Oregon Shakespear
