Who is Marty Walsh?
Martin J. "Marty" Walsh is an American politician from Boston, Massachusetts. A Democrat, he is the Mayor-elect of Boston and a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives who has served since 1997 representing the Thirteenth Suffolk district. He is the Chairman of the Committee on Ethics, and serves as a Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Democratic Party Labor Caucus. During his tenure he has also served as Chairman of Homeland Security and Federal Affairs Committee, and as co-chair for the Special Commission on Public Construction Reform.
On November 5, 2013, Walsh won the mayoral race in Boston to succeed Mayor Thomas Menino.
