Who was Naif bin Abdullah?
Naif bin Abdullah el-Hashim was the youngest son of King Abdullah of Jordan. He attended Victoria College in Cairo. Naif became regent of Jordan on July 20, 1951, following the assassination of Abdullah, because his brother, King Talal, was reportedly suffering from poor health. Naif ruled in his older brother's stead until September 6, 1951, when Talal was judged fit to assume his royal duties. Naif died in Jordan on October 12, 1983.
