Parney Albright

Who is Parney Albright?

Penrose “Parney” C. Albright was, until November 1, 2013, the director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.

He currently serves as the Associated Director at Large, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Senior Advisor, Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Intelligence advanced Research Projects Activity, on assignment under an Interpersonel Agreement, where he supports IARPA as well as ODNI senior leadership on a variety of issues.

Between November 2011 and November 2013, he served as the Director of Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and President of Lawrence Livermore National Security. LLNL receives ~1.5B/yr in federal funding, with ~6500 employees. It conducts a diverse set of research and development efforts in nuclear security; efforts in domestic and international security; and efforts in energy and the environment. LLNL conducts these programs with world leading capabilities in science, computation, and engineering.
